Whom Gods Shall Fear is well on the way, with over half the planned word count finished despite the fact that only a third of the chapter spine is filled out. This might actually be the one book where a lot goes in the editing stage! Or it could just end up being double the length, guess we'll find out.

The book is planned to arrive later this year. When it does land it will end the main story of this series, and conclude the Great War of the Shaeld.

In preparation for this release, the People section of the site has been updated. Almost all characters who will be in WGSF are now marked as such on their bio pages. Those where it is uncertain at this stage if they will be written in have been left without the link, as has one character in particular whose appearance is intended to be a sickening surprise.

Those of you who enjoyed the introduction to the crew of the Leo Fortune will be pleased to hear that they will be making an appearance. We may also encounter Hywen, last seen in A Storm to the Savage, and Doctor Berris, who played a small role in I Dream of Damastion.

In fact... many characters who have only had small moments so far will be turning up to watch the galactic bonfire, and some of them will be bringing marshmallows. The theme of 'consequences' may well play a significant role in this finalé...

The People pages under the Universe category have now been completed for all characters seen or mentioned so far in the Great War of the Shaeld series. At time of writing this literally includes every named character, from civilians seen in passing to each and every member of Tanker Regiment seen in the last book.

[Edit: since this article was first posted, new index pages have also been added for all characters by surname, all the women, and all the men.]

This feels like a great achievement, since there are over 100 named characters, many of them linked to various events throughout the four existing novels and beyond.

The "upcoming characters" page has now been removed, so the new characters who will be arriving in Perseus Aflame will be added to this site when the first book from that series — On Vicious Wing — is actually approaching its release date.

Some characters from the first of the upcoming GWOTS-era novellas, however, do have partial profiles on the site already. These are:

• Reximillian Bel-Kenita — Protagonist.
• Euelli Berris — Head of developmental research, Kenita-Deng Incorporated.
• Mansour al-Rashid — Captain, ICS Ardent.
• Zana Turei — Chief engineer, ICS Ardent.

That novella is of course I Dream of Damastion, which should be released before the end of the year and may help to tide people over until the much-delayed release of Whom Gods Shall Fear. The protagonist of another upcoming novella — A Storm to the Savage — also now has her own page. Watch this space.

For serious fans of the Armadaverse, it's highly recommended that you take a deep dive into lore by reading the background and insights into your favourite characters!

The web site just keeps getting bigger, better, and badder! Here's whats been added or changed in the past week or so:

1. New character profiles created for Nur Rohana binti Ishak (Doctor Rohana), Brehim, Imbris Laselle, and High Admiral Audrene Bel-Taulon.
2. Rupus Dyne, Frane Harth, and Ragnar Otkellsson updated with character images.
3. Key Tanker profiles now include a scale visualisation image.
4. The Tanker Regiment featured article has been updated/enhanced with the latest images and links.
5. New character/society page added for Glanced Esteem.
6. Profile page added for the ICS Hammer.
7. Category pages added for the Imperial Starship Design Roadmap and Imperial Facilities.
8. Pages created in Facilities for Gemen Station and Forge Ruinous.
9. Planet profile created for Jasamma.
10. As well as Uninhabited Planets, the Places section now lists Incidental Planets. These are worlds about which there is insufficient information to justify an entire profile page.

There have been yet more additions and improvements this weekend. Strap yourself in!

It's always good to know that people are visiting the site and poring over the information here, so feel free to comment.

1. ​A new (and quite long) page was added for CAGA.
2. A new page was added for the Imperial Navy, which is now the parent to the freshly streamlined Imperial Starships page. Expect individual ship profiles for the featured ships to arrive at some point.
3. A section on meritocracy was added to the Imperial Combine overview, and the page has been cleaned up.
4. The [spoiler] panel has been added to more character profiles, particularly those whose latest involvements are heavily plot-related.
5. The legends on [spoiler] panels have been edited to show which book/s the spoilers apply to.
6. Many character profiles have been edited and cleaned up, those with long entries being broken into sections.
7. The people section was trimmed down and no longer duplicates links to all the characters listed elsewhere.
8. The Privacy & Policies page has moved under the FAQ, along with a new Asset Usage page.

A new category was sneaked into the Universe section this week, and it adds eighteen Technology articles! This section will be under continuous development, with more entries being made as more technology is revealed in upcoming releases.

Also this week... the book pages were all given a makeover to remove clutter, improve appearance for mobile devices, add images for external destinations like Amazon and Audible, and introduce a touch of per-book colour theming.

In the past two days, massive improvements have been made to this site. And we're not just talking usability here, oh no. Piles of content have been added!

• ​Most of the 100+ characters now have individual profile pages under the Universe section.
• People are split into main characters, secondary characters, and everybody else.
• A large addition to the People section's main page now lets you view all people by role (e.g. Shards) and by group (e.g. known Rasas).
• Those of you who secretly fancy Bruiser will be glad to hear he has been upgraded to main character status.
• The Imperial Combine page and Alien Civilisations page were brought together under one new heading: Societies.
• Wait for it... added to the Societies section are pages for the Mastalekt, the Lem Bataan Confederation, and the mother-funking Rodori.
• Most regularly used pages are now more mobile friendly.

Some more improvements to the site this week:

• ​A series category has been added to the books section, which may be of interest!
• A page for The Great War of the Shaeld is now under the new series category.
• ​The main characters page has been split in two, with the less-important people being moved to the new secondary characters page.

The web site has been lavished with attention this week. In the past day, the following changes have gone live:

• Voice and Maber Castigon got their own character pages under the Main Characters category.
• Pages referencing them were linked.
• Biology notes were added to the Viskr and Shaeld Hratha pages.
• The Books section was reorganised so that main novels and expansion episodes come under their own sections.
• A section was added to the FAQ to assist those wanting to update their Kindle editions.
• Unnecessary duplicate headings were pruned throughout the site.

Some changes and improvements have been made to the site in the past day. As well as various layout and formatting tweaks, the following changes were made:

• The Imperial Combine page was moved under the Universe section.
• A new Imperial Starships page was added. This and the Many Worlds page were both moved under the Imperial Combine page.
• The 'Major Powers' page was merged with the Imperial Combine page to make a new Universe category named Societies. The Mastalekt species was added.
• Individual pages have been added to the Main Characters section for Elm Caden, Rendir Throam, and Euryce Eilentes.
• Many pages (including books, news, and features) have had links inserted for the new Universe content.
• The top menu has been rearranged to make the most popular sections easier to see.
• The About page was rejigged to make it more digestible.
