Just a quick one!
The paperback version of The Ravening Deep is on the way, and will hopefully be on Amazon not much longer than a week from now (assuming the proof is acceptable). The print length of the standard edition will be 542 pages. ![]() It's here! The Ravening Deep has now gone live across all of the different regional Kindle stores. Customers who pre-ordered can now download their copy simply by switching on their registered devices, and new customers can purchase a copy normally through their usual Kindle store front. We are now officially past the halfway mark with this story! The next main sequence volume will tie up most of the sub-plots and answer a lot of questions, paving the way for an apocalyptic climax which can concentrate on the long-awaited revelations and those inevitable final battles. Also don't forget to keep an eye out for the two companion episodes early in 2016, which will enhance the experience of The Ravening Deep and supply all sorts of expanded universe details. Both episodes will be self-contained stories of their own, while at the same time giving some insight into what is going on in the background of the main story. The Kindle launch of The Ravening Deep is just over a week away, so it's a good moment to have a quick rest and talk about what else is going to happen over the next few weeks and months. The Ravening Deep — PaperbackFirst and foremost, within a fortnight the paperback proof copy of TRD should be received and approved. It will then be on Amazon within a day, and linked to the Kindle version's product page a few days after that. Don't forget that the wildly inaccurate "estimated page count" for the Kindle version of TRD will be automatically corrected within about a week of the paperback and Kindle versions being linked. For your reference, the page count of The Ravening Deep is 542 pages, not whatever tiny nonsense number the product page gives on launch day (it's been showing 355 pages since the final eBook file was uploaded, which is clearly wrong.) Don't forget you can pre-order The Ravening Deep for Kindle to benefit from 1/3 off the standard price! Extensive Wiki UpdatesDevelopment work for The Ravening Deep took up a huge amount of time, and as such the updates to the official Wiki for List of the Dead fell by the wayside somewhat. Throughout December, there will be a concerted effort made to get existing articles updated for the text of volumes 2 and 3, and to add the new articles for characters, places, tech, etc which are introduced in the new book. Some topics relating to The Ravening Deep will of course be delayed for a while in order to prevent significant spoilers. I Dream of Damastion — ScheduleKeyboard-bashing for IDOD will begin literally on January 1st 2016. It is due for a late February release date, which will be announced at the end of January.
Some development work has been done already, and the following details can now be revealed exclusively to this site:
