Overview

The Solar system is an Orion arm planetary system, based around the star referred to by humans as Sol. The human home planet, Earth, is the third major body in this system.

Since Earth and the Solar system are the home of the human race, and the seat of power of the Imperial Combine, the system has a complex military-industrial infrastructure. This includes a number of prime gates, several fortresses, and a formidable defence network which includes fracture barriers.

The system includes a large number of planets, dwarf planets, minor bodies, and a major asteroid belt.
