Commercial Use of Images and Files
This site contains a number of images and files which are integral to the Armada Wars universe, and which are intellectual properties of the brand protected by international copyright law.
This page exists to give visitors a more detailed understanding of what usage is or is not allowed, in the absence of explicit permission.
- Using our assets for personal use is fine.
- Using our assets for commercial purposes or to create revenue is not fine.

Which Files Count?
- Character images, as seen on the profile pages in the people section, and in various other places around the site.
- Book covers, as seen on the book pages in the books section, and in various other places around the site.
- Illustrative and marketing images which are derived from the book covers, or from the "Siege of Damastion" promotional image.
- The 3D models which were supplied on this site in Adobe Fuse format (now discontinued).
- Audio files such as pronunciation guides or the Audiobook samples.
- Any other image or file which is evidently connected with the Armada Wars brand.
Examples of Personal Usage
- Using a character's face or a crop of an image for a profile picture, for example on Facebook.
- Using an image from one of the books as the banner or backdrop for a gaming clan.
- Using a character image or book cover as your phone's lock screen or computer desktop image.
- Use of 3D models for amusement, or for illustrating scenes within the Armada Wars universe.
- Because you want Armada Wars characters printed on the napkins at your birthday party (and please let us know if you do anything like this, because that's awesome).
Examples of Commercial Usage
- Appropriation of character images or their 3D models to represent or illustrate different characters or scenes from a different fictional universe, or to illustrate characters or scenes from this fictional universe for any unauthorised monetised purpose.
- Appropriation of any other image or file to represent or illustrate scenes in published materials from a different fictional universe.
- Unlicensed usage for representational or illustrative purposes in a work, publication, presentation, or any other product — whether electronic or material — from which a profit will be obtained.
What Counts as "Profit"?
- A flat fee or price. So for example, you may not download images from here and then upload them to a service which charges for images (regardless of whether you own the service, or simply use it). Nor may you print the images onto products which will be sold, e.g. T-shirts. In the same way, you may not use the 3D models to create a visual product for which you will be paid, e.g. an animation.
- A subscription. For example, you may not use the images or 3D files as either integral decoration, or as downloadable items, in an environment which is behind any kind of subscription paywall.
- A royalty, retainer, or percentage. If you are intending to use elements of images or models in a work for which you will receive trickle or repeat revenue, you must have permission.
This list is illustrative and should be considered non-exhaustive. The conditions under which images and files may be used are somewhat subject to common sense. The simple rule is this: if you want to use these assets to represent something which is not Armada Wars-related, or you will profit from their usage, you must seek and have permission first.
Can I Get Permission?
If you wish to use our files, or character/ship likenesses, for commercial purposes then you must contact us, as the purpose you intend may not be suitable for or compatible with our intellectual properties. Commercial usage will very likely attract a license payment, the scale of which is dependent on a number of factors.
