If you follow an affiliate link, other cookies may be set by Amazon, Waterstones, Blackwells, Awin, or CJ — these are not under our control.
We do not use services which we consider to be unduly intrusive. We have removed all Facebook integration, due to their alleged data retention and monetisation practices, and we no longer knowingly set cookies from their organisation or use their social sharing widgets.

Cookies
Like virtually all web sites, this one uses "cookies" to provide various types of functionality and usability. The cog icon at the bottom left of your browser allows you to customise your cookie experience on this site.
Cookies are very small text files which a web server can read and write on your computer in a restricted fashion. They can contain all manner of information, to help web sites recognise users, provide an experience tuned to the user, and store some information about your visits which will help personalise matters later on (for example, hiding the prompt to sign up for the newsletter for a period of time if you have already dismissed it).
Your web browser will have a privacy section in its settings, which allows control over how web sites use cookies. Although the vast majority of cookies from legitimate web sites are perfectly benign, your browser's privacy controls are still worth knowing about.
To reject advertiser cookies en masse, instead of site by site, we recommend that you use YourOnlineChoices.com and YourAdChoices. You should use those sites for every browser you use, on every device (for example Firefox and Chrome on your laptop, Safari on your iPhone, and so on). If you are interested in maintaining your privacy then it is good practice to revisit this admin task every few months.
UK residents can learn about their rights and data holder's responsibilities at the ICO web site.

Affiliate Links
Many of the links on this site — for example, links to Armadaverse books for Kindle or in paperback form — point to Amazon UK, Amazon USA, Amazon Australia, or Amazon Canada.
Wherever practical those links include an affiliate ID for the Armada Wars web site. This means that if you purchase Armadaverse items after following one of these affiliate links, the author benefits not only from the usual payable royalty but also from a small referral fee. The referral will also apply to other eligible items or subscriptions purchased during the same shopping session. The site also uses affiliate links for Waterstones and Blackwells, which work the same way — purchases made in that session will provide a small fee to the author.
This costs you nothing — the referral amount is paid from the retailer's share of the purchase or subscription.
Affiliate links are marked across the site with a * symbol, so that you can identify them more easily. This is because publishers of affiliate links are usually required to disclose their existence for transparency purposes.
Please note that as of March 2023, all links within Armada Wars Kindle eBooks, which point to published Armadaverse titles, are also Amazon affiliate links. Each Kindle eBook has a notice to this effect on the copyright page at the beginning of the book, and at the end of the book.
