OverviewMaber Castigon was born as Matvei Avksentiyevich Castigon. In the formative years he spent on Earth he was more commonly known as Matvei Avksentiyevich Volkov.
He is currently an ex-counterpart, last assigned to Elm Caden. Their working relationship ended when Castigon deliberately caused huge numbers of civilian casualties and attempted to place the blame on Caden. Castigon spent ten Solars in an Imperial Combine prison before being released in March 3745 ELC. Immediately upon his release he evaded probation services, and set about tracking down and killing the Shards who had given evidence against him at his trial. It was this campaign of terror which led Castigon to be present on Meccrace Prime during a planetary assault by the Shaeld Hratha, which in turn exposed him to the Rasa virus. Castigon's exact biological status — his relationship to Voice, his mental stability, and his physical capabilities — are not currently known. Early LifeAfter the death of his parents when he was only a year old, Maber Castigon was raised by his maternal uncle Artyom Ilyich Volkov (Артём Во́лков, informally Tyoma or Тёма).
Artyom's home was in a rural enclave, very close to the ancient town of Revda, in Sverdlovsk Oblast. This was an administrative area of what had once been Earth's Russia. Castigon's original given name was Matvei (Матвей, informally Motya). He adopted an apparently unconnected, diminutive form — 'Maber' — while trying to survive his teenage years, and dropped the patronymic Avksentiyevich. Although he had grown up being referred to with his uncle's family name of Volkov, he reverted to his paternal family name of Castigon with the deliberate intention of further confusing his identity. PersonalityAs a fully grown adult, Castigon demonstrates some psychotic and sociopathic tendencies. He is tenacious, vicious, callous, and lacks empathy. He appears to be unable to accept responsibility for some of his own actions, in particular those which led him to be incarcerated, and will gladly lie to achieve his goals.
Having murdered several of his erstwhile colleagues Castigon seems to have adopted a cavalier attitude towards the value of human life. Since leaving prison behind on Urx, he has needlessly killed several people. EducationOriginally from what was once known as Russia, Castigon did not leave Earth until the age of sixteen Solars when he migrated to Kelvestyr. There he attended the Imperial War College for CAGA training, and from the outset he showed an interest only in the counterpart pathway.
At the age of twenty-two he successfully graduated to the Counterpart Academy, where he studied their specialised curriculum for two Solars. Notable Events
