Bruiser is a Rodori bull, and in 3731 ELC he was the first of his kind to voluntarily join the CAGA forces of the Imperial Combine.
Bruiser was born and raised on the protectorate colony world of Naiaeg, a planet which belongs to the Empire and which is populated by both Rodori and humans. As a juvenile he was known to all by the name Grudden.
When he came of age, Bruiser was given his Accepted name by his sunshe social unit. His name translates literally as The Bruised Heart of Faith in Others. His peers gave him this name because of his habit of sulking for days on end when others failed to live up to his expectations or demands. After he was given his Accepted name, the privilege of addressing him with his infant name 'Grudden' was withdrawn from all but his biological parents. Read more about Rodori culture...
Bruiser is currently at the peak of his adult life and is in excellent shape. He is a healthy weight for his height, and bench presses an astonishing 700 kg. Bruiser is so dedicated to the gym that he will routinely remove his link when training; this means he is unable to understand his human colleagues and finds it much harder to be distracted
Bruiser is a man of few words when in mixed company, as he can take some time to warm up to new people. When among trusted friends he is humorous and sincere. He is somewhat cautious about interacting physically with human friends, for example in training, due to his size and strength far exceeding theirs.
There is very little information recorded on the topic of Bruiser's sex life, although Rendir Throam once speculated about it with Euryce Eilentes during their downtime. Eilentes later teased Elm Caden by suggesting that Bruiser was romantically interested in him.
It is a matter of record that between 3719 and 3731 ELC Bruiser mated with The Intangible Hope of a Silver Dawn, producing at least two children. The specific details of that relationship are however unknown (→FSS).
The Bruised Heart of Faith in Others enrolled at the War College late in life, but was able to adjust his education to the required framework within a relatively short time. He assimilated easily into Imperial life and adjusted quickly when placed on active duty in the CAGA, where his squad mates — for their convenience as much as anything — gave him the nickname Bruiser.
Bruiser is a formidable soldier, and favours a general purpose machine gun (GPMG) as his weapon of choice. He has spent the past ten years quite happily plodding along as a private, and has shown no interest in promotion. As much as this frustrates his senior officers, his steady and relaxed attitude to life is fairly typical amongst members of his long-lived species.
Recent events have propelled Bruiser into the limelight and he is currently serving as a counterpart for Elm Caden, standing in for Rendir Throam. He has established himself quickly as a worthy and capable replacement.
