Since it's now the final approach to the apocalyptic climax of The Great War of the Shaeld, Kindle prices for the current series have dropped a bit. It's a good time to get friends in on the action!
The older, shorter books are now priced lower than the newer, longer books. The new prices are as follows:
Steal from the Devil / List of the Dead
CAN: $3.99 CAD
AUS: $3.99 AUD
Kindle Matchbook price: Free
The Ravening Deep / From Shattered Stars
CAN: $4.99 CAD
AUS: $4.99 AUD
Kindle Matchbook price: 50% off
Armada Wars Books 1–3 Omnibus:
Typically 20% off the price of separate volumes, depending on Kindle region.
CAN: $7.99 CAD
AUS: $7.99 AUD
Prices correct as of 9th Jan 2018.
Kindle sales regions not mentioned above have prices which are adjusted according to local economy and historical sales figures — most are somewhat lower than the prices for regions providing the majority of sales.
Because the product details text on the Amazon pages need updating to take the new release date into account for From Shattered Stars, minor corrections are being uploaded to the existing Kindle eBooks at the same time. The paperback editions will be updated with the new interior content, none of which is incredibly compelling.
List of the Dead / Books 1–3 Omnibus (Both rev. 1.08)
From Shattered Stars (Rev. 1.08)
The Kindle update policy has changed, and existing customers will not receive updates for such trivial changes. The new Kindle versions will be available to new customers tomorrow, with the paperbacks expected to be updated by the day after.
Additionally, it has been discovered that links to Createspace stores now simply redirect to Amazon. Createspace links have therefore been removed from this site. If you don't use Amazon, you can buy signed paperbacks on the official store.
There have been yet more additions and improvements this weekend. Strap yourself in!
Quite a lot of work goes on behind the scenes, as well as constant edits to keep the site current with the latest books and correct small, unnoticed errors.
It's always good to know that people are visiting the site and poring over the information here, so feel free to comment. And if you're feeling particularly saintly, then please support the Armadaverse through Patreon!
If you're not a member already, Amazon UK is offering three months of Kindle Unlimited for free as part of Black Friday. This is three times as long as their normal 30-day trial, and gives you access to over a million books.
So if you've still to catch up with one, two, three, or even all of the Armada Wars books, now would be a good time to act!
You must apply before the end of 1st December, and please take note of the small print (it's one of those deals where you'll be charged after the three months if you don't cancel).
The paperback version of From Shattered Stars is now available in our store, which means you can order signed copies if you so desire.
If you've picked up our business card at a convention then you already have a mutating coupon code for this site. The code currently gives you an extra £1 off FSS, on top of our existing £1 discount on the Amazon price. So you can get the paperback here almost 20% cheaper than on Amazon!
Amazon OneLink is now being rolled out across the site. This system means that you only have to click one button to go and find a particular Armada Wars book on your local Amazon store — Amazon works out for itself what geographical region you are in, and routes you accordingly.
The system is being implemented for Kindle edition links, paperback links, and some audiobook links.
At the moment it's up and running for readers in the USA, the UK, and Canada. People from other regions can click the same link to use the Amazon.com site, or choose from the regional links which are still listed.
One known issue is that OneLink doesn't always register your region on the first click, and sends you to Amazon.com regardless of where you are. Subsequent clicks seem to be handled correctly. Presumably this is a bug that Amazon is working on already.
The provisional release date of Christmas 2017 for Whom Gods Shall Fear has been moved, and the final book in this series is now intended to arrive in July 2018.
No doubt this will come as a disappointment to those of you who are itching for the climax of this story, but it needs to be done right. After all, WGSF is a massive book which involves lots of intersecting/colliding threads... December was perhaps a little optimistic!
Good news though: work is starting now on the audiobook of List of the Dead. Woohoo!
From Shattered Stars is now fully available in both Kindle eBook and paperback formats! As well as buying outright or borrowing for Kindle, you can now purchase the paperback edition to line up with your other lovely paper copies.
This paperback is in the same format as the other current books, with one small new feature: some elements of the front cover wrap around onto the spine.
See the FSS page for links to your preferred Amazon site.
As mentioned yesterday on the Facebook page, there has been a universal update to all of the Armada Wars Kindle eBooks. The purpose of the update was to:
The new editions are a huge improvement over previous versions, and the eBooks have never looked so good. Read on to learn more!
Those of you who keep a close eye on this news blog, the old site, and the social media channels will know that piracy — fake or otherwise — is a constant annoyance.
Two days ago an opening salvo was fired at 53 web sites and servers, all purporting to offer free copies of the Armada Wars eBooks. As of this morning, 42 of those offers are now either returning Error 404, or the pages have been permanently delisted by Google (which will go hand-in-hand with a big dip in search score for that site).
