A while ago there was a poll regarding the redesign of the front covers, and it was very helpful to hear your views.
This poll is along the same lines, only it's for posters. The posters are currently available as artwork only, or with title text (i.e. just like the front covers). I'm considering either changing the design with text, or adding a new poster into the line-up.
So take a look at the three styles below (Style C is of course the proposed one), then please do spend fifteen seconds giving feedback. It really does help!
Wikia is falling out of favour here at HQ. The site is not particularly attractive on a web browser, and when using a mobile device visitors are bombarded with adverts. Advert bombardment is not really in tune with the whole ethos of the Armadaverse — no, we're more about missiles.
The benefit of Wikia is that it's a free, open Wiki platform. It makes it very easy to maintain a large database of information which is cross-linked. The information could be replicated on this very site, in the Universe section, but that will be time-consuming and laborious.
So the question falls to you, the community: stick or twist?
Various changes have been made to the web site in the past few days and weeks, to improve your experience:
Phew! Think that's everything. If you have any thoughts about these changes, please do leave a comment.
Some changes have been made to the web site to streamline navigation, and to classify entries in a more user-friendly manner.
Banner art has been shaken up too, so that different sections of the site have a different banner image. The page for each published book uses a slice of the book's own cover as the banner image.
Future changes will likely include individual pages for main characters, as well as categories for major places and major technologies.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, I Dream of Damastion — the first of the two upcoming novellas which will accompany The Ravening Deep — will be delayed by about a month. There was simply no way around it.
The delay should not apply to the release date of The Granite Whistle, and it will not affect the release of the fourth main sequence novel, From Shattered Stars.
In other news, The Ravening Deep appears to have sated the fans' lust for more, and all the feedback so far has been excellent (especially if you ignore the one statistical outlier.)
It's probably worth me mentioning once more that if you have Amazon Prime or Kindle Unlimited, then you can ready any Armada Wars title for free on Kindle.
Those of you still waiting for audiobook versions will be pleased to hear that efforts are underway to get a timescale nailed down.
Don't forget that you will receive monthly email updates about the Armadaverse if you subscribe to the free newsletter. It's non-spammy and we don't share your details with anyone else.
The poll is now closed! Thanks to everyone who voted and commented, both here and on social media.
The purpose of this refresh is to match the text alignment between covers, make the covers less monotone, and help increase the visibility of the text in thumbnail versions of the covers.
You can click on the images below to enlarge them. In gallery view, use the left and right cursor keys to flick quickly between covers.
NOTE: A third set of images has now been added in response to negative feedback about the proposed text layout. These latest images are in the middle column, and labelled as the "compromise" covers.
It's a first for the Armadaverse: a reader survey!
This blog post is extra special: it's one which you can use to outline your response to the current Armada Wars books — and the forthcoming episode, The Ravening Deep — without all the pesky nonsense which goes with writing comments.
Basically, because we can.
The survey won't collect any information about you; it only sends the selected options and any text you type in. Read on to give your answers!
