OverviewHywen is the Eyes and Ears monitor responsible for all intelligence staff working from the Fort Herses battle station, located in wide orbit of Ramm Stallahad.
Hywen is gender fluid, and lives as a man, a woman, both, or neither, according to how they feel their inner person is best represented. This may change across hours, days, or sometimes weeks. Those who work with Hywen regularly are well accustomed to taking cues from the grammar Hywen uses. Hywen is not in any way offended by the use of "they", "them", and "themself" when being referred to, and would prefer these pronouns to being mis-gendered unintentionally. Hywen is considered omni-competent amongst their intelligence peers, and demonstrates an extraordinarily high level of consideration and patience with colleagues, regardless of any difference in rank. One of Hywen's more noticeable idiosyncrasies involves addressing those they favour most with ever-changing terms of endearment. While speaking with Marlay Saccar across the duration of the field agent's last mission, Hywen used no fewer than twenty-six distinct appellations, with none repeated (→ASTTS). Hywen has a reputation for keeping a sensational drinks cabinet in their office on Fort Herses, and is known to use stim sticks while on duty. In the words of their direct supervisor, Invigilator March Bel-Askis, "I really don't care, just as long as they get the job done... and they always do." Notable EventsIn 3745 ELC, Hywen assigned field agent Marlay Saccar to an intelligence operation on the surface of Palanda Ire, and summoned her to a briefing at Fort Herses (→ASTTS).
Hywen later communicated with Saccar several times while the agent was active in and around the city of Arroch. It was Hywen who then convinced Fleet that Arroch city ought to be a primary target for a counter-strike against Voice. Thanks to Hywen's compelling arguments, when Marlay Saccar provided damning evidence, the Imperial Navy and CAGA forces were ready for the brutal Battle of Arroch Bay (→ASTTS, FSS). |
