Structure and Purpose
Gemen Station is a scientific research facility, operated by the Imperial Combine on the remote planet Herros. It is primarily responsible for military projects, which includes the design, construction, and testing of super-weapons with horrific destructive capability.
The station is not marked on public data nodes, and is flagged as a medical research facility on Imperial cartographic systems.
Mostly buried in the crust of Herros, the station interior is spacious and bright. It is divided into cellular work areas, all arranged around a core which houses elevator shafts. Each level is divided evenly between research, laboratories, storage, and living spaces. The walls are white and slant outwards, and the emergency lighting is a pale blue.
The toxic atmosphere of Herros is kept outside by thick, trapezoidal doors, behind which are protective airlock systems. There are at least two entrances to the station, with the secondary entrance granting access from a landing pad.
The main control centre for the entire facility is situated directly below the ground level. Its walls are mostly clear windows, and it has two concentric rings of work stations. Holos here give protected access to all core systems, including security footage and logs.

Notable Events
One of the key projects developed at Gemen Station was the Atmospheric Dispersal Warhead (ADW). This warhead was designed to rapidly deliver any given biological payload, on a planetary scale and in a highly persistent form (→SFTD).
All personnel working at the station, as well as several starships tasked with defending it, went missing in the first week of March 3745 ELC. Outsider Amarist Naeb was found there alone in an apparent catatonic state. It is now believed that her former colleague Medran Morlum was in some way involved in abducting all staff and stealing their research materials. At the time the station was first investigated it was not known on whose behalf he did this, or how he achieved such a difficult task (→SFTD).
Indications from subsequent investigation suggest that the station was first infiltrated by Rasas, who then converted the rest of the staff. They likely took control of the defending ships by the same method, all on behalf of Voice (→LOTD, TRD).
Doctor Danil Bel-Ures is the only member of staff known to have escaped the takeover of the facility. When rescued from the surface of Meccrace Prime a few days later, she accidentally revealed to Elm Caden that Gemen Station has a sister facility, located on the opposite side of the Empire. She provided no further details of its nature or purpose, and only referred to it as "Site Bravo" (→LOTD).
The sister facility of Gemen Station is now known to be Forge Ruinous, located on Lopama. It is here that the payloads for the ADW system were manufactured (→FSS).
