OverviewSilane Creid was the Eyes and Ears invigilator for the Shalleon system, and resided on Maidre Shalleon. He worked on the Fort Shalleon battle station.
Creid's primary intelligence focus, in his own words, was "knowing who is where, and when". Notable EventsIn March 3745 ELC, Creid participated in the E&E meeting which discussed the attacks on Gemen Station and Echo. During that meeting he questioned the assertion made by March Bel-Askis that a number of seemingly unrelated incidents were evidence of an incursion into Imperial Combine territory. He also queried the Imperial Navy's apparent inaction in the wake of the suspected attacks, and was then schooled in Viskr tactics by his colleague Sashan Geneve. After reasoning was presented, he was quick to agree that the Viskr Junta was most likely attacking the Empire, and he appeared to have no sympathy for human civilians who might already be in harm's way (→SFTD).
A few days later, Creid took part in a conference call with Elm Caden, the Chamberlain, and Fleet Admiral Bel-Messari. During that conversation he was cynical towards Caden's interpretation of the events at Herros and Woe Tantalum, but did offer the scientific research facilities of the research vessel Vavilov as a means of learning more about the Rasa threat (→LOTD). Creid was an active participant in a meeting between Elm Caden and Eyes and Ears, during which information on Voice and the Rasas was pooled. Creid suggested that the Shaeld Hratha had stolen Atmospheric Dispersal Warheads from the Empire in order to infect entire planets with the Rasa virus (→TRD). Tap to reveal spoilers (TRD)
Creid was one of the many senior invigilators who took part in an emergency session after Herik Pammon and Amarist Naeb threatened to destroy Fort Laeara. The ultimatum delivered by the Rasas was later found to be a ruse, intended to force invigilators into positions where they could be assassinated easily. Silane Creid was killed by a bomb which detonated inside the conference chamber of Fort Shalleon (→TRD). |
