OverviewLieutenant Colonel Jolan Straeger is a senior Tanker officer. He commands the entire 1085th, one of the four battalions which together comprise Tanker Regiment.
Notable EventsWhile en route to Lopama, Elm Caden and Orri Hekekia delivered a briefing to MAGA and Tanker officers aboard the ICS Night's Shadow. Lt Colonel Straeger was present at the briefing, and was understandably incensed by the news that Eyes and Ears — and also Caden — were possibly responsible for the loss of an entire Tanker platoon, a platoon which had been deployed without consulting or informing Tanker commanders. This resulted in a tense, verbal confrontation with Caden (→FSS).
Straeger was present during another briefing held on the Night's Shadow, this time when the carrier was part of a task force mustered at a rendezvous in the Beta Tricomis system. During this briefing — which laid out Commander Operations' plans for Operation Sabre — Strager was vehemently opposed to the entire scheme. He questioned whether the objectives were worth the likelihood of a massive loss of life from both Tanker Regiment and general MAGA infantry. While his misgivings were not dispelled, he was convinced by Caden's arguments that the contributions of Tanker Regiment would be essential to the success of the operation (→FSS). The Lieutenant Colonel was impressed with Elm Caden's behaviour, successes, and motives, and he later found the opportunity to discuss with the Shard some concerns which had been passed down to him by Colonel Catark Baiste, the CO of the entire Tanker Regiment. As a result of that conversation, Straeger agreed to accompany Caden to speak with Fleet Command, where he intended to bully the admiralty into being far more cooperative with the other governmental and military bodies attempting to fight against Voice (→FSS). |
