Overview

Colonel Catark Baiste is the CAGA officer with control of — and responsibility for — the entirety of Tanker Regiment.

As one might imagine he is not a man to trifle with. His nickname among the Tankers is "the Beast", and he guards this moniker against pretenders as if it were a trademark.

Notable Events

In 3745 ELC, Colonel Baiste was supportive of his regiment's role in Operation Sabre, which aimed to retake key infrastructure on the surface of Palanda Ire. This stance was unpopular with his subordinates, due to the high probability of severe casualty rates, but Baiste recognised the importance of the mission objectives (→FSS).

Shortly after the massacre at Arroch Bay, Baiste gave implicit support to Elm Caden when the Shard took the Imperial Navy to task over their mishandling of Voice. Already irritated by the navy treating Tanker Regiment as though it were their own resource, Baiste was further infuriated by both Fleet and Eyes and Ears causing the loss of one of his platoons at Forge Ruinous. Between them, Fleet and E&E had issued orders to Buzzard Company's Third Platoon without bothering to consult with anyone in the Tanker hierarchy (→FSS).

As a result of that fateful lack of etiquette, Baiste instructed Lieutenant Colonel Jolan Straeger to accompany Caden to his planned confrontation with Fleet Command, with orders to support the Shard in any way he saw fit (→FSS).
