OverviewRoima Gotharom came to the public eye as a celebrated formation pilot. In the early 38th Century, her acts of aerial derring-do stunned and delighted audiences across the many worlds of the Imperial Combine.
Gotharom was the most decorated formation pilot of all time, according to Imperial records, but she ended her career as a highly effective navy fighter pilot. Following the cessation of hostilities on the Perseus arm, a statue of her was erected on Earth. Notable EventsFor much of her civilian career Gotharom was a part of the display team known as the 'Kementhast Conquerors'. She worked her way into this career after becoming disillusioned in her role as the Flight Operations Assistant on a mining ship (→TRD).
At the outbreak of the Perseus conflict, Gotharom was among the first civilians to enlist voluntarily in the ranks of the Imperial Navy. After a brief bridging course at the Imperial Flight Academy, she found herself a fighter pilot on the carrier Gather In Thy Fellows (→TRD). By the time Gotharom was marked as KIA, following a Viskr ambush at Capita Munduras, she had racked up an unprecedented 493 confirmed kills, a count which has not been equalled since. Roima Gotharom was a childhood hero of Euryce Eilentes, and the single most significant influence in her decision to become a pilot. On 20th July 3717 ELC, the two met during a talk Gotharom gave to the citizens of Villium on Kementhast Prime. Euryce was six Solars old at the time and had been taken to hear Gotharom talk by her father, Westry Eilentes. The encounter followed an aerial display at the Villium Grande Aerospace Centre, in which Gotharom was involved, and which had a lasting effect on the young Euryce (→TRD). |
