Overview
Mag-tags are a magnetic hard-point which can be used to securely store any weapon which is compatible with the system. They can be built into the weapons racks aboard vehicles such as Kodiaks, mounted in storage lockers aboard combat vessels, or even built into the armour of troops.
A mag-tag has a powerful, constrained magnetic field, which activates when a compatible device is detected in close proximity. It will hold on to the dedicated mounting point of a compatible weapon very securely. The more advanced systems favoured by military organisations such as CAGA will only release a weapon if the weapon's own security subsystem detects it is being held by an authorised user.
Mag-tags are easy to use and do their job well. A weapon operator can stow or retrieve their arms quickly and easily, without taking their attention away from the battlefield, and can rest safe in the knowledge that a weapon will not disappear unexpectedly once stowed.
