OverviewAdmiral Brea Kalabi commands the First Fleet ship ICS Fearless, the flagship of the Imperial Navy. She is a well-meaning and affable officer who is very supportive of her colleagues in the lower ranks.
Kalabi arrived to reinforce the Eighth Fleet at the Battle of Meccrace Prime, and was the first commanding officer to deploy the new rift weapons platform against a Shaeld Hrathan dreadship. On entering combat, Kalabi relieved Captain Helia Thande and the Disputer of their fight against the dreadships, ordering Thande to instead attack the stolen fleets supporting them. Kalabi retreated from the battle only when the dreadships present — in their superior numbers — began to surround Fearless more quickly than the rift platform could recharge (→LOTD). Kalabi was present at an informal meeting between Aker Santani and Fleet Admiral Tabius Bel-Messari, during which she gave Santani subtle clues as to how to avoid being stripped of her rank (→TRD). Admiral Kalabi was also one of the three members of a Disciplinary Branch triumvirate which sought to come to a resolution over the actions of Admiral Groath Betombe. During the hearing, both Kalabi and Admiral Hong sided with Betombe and ensured that — at the very least — judgement would be deferred in his case (→TRD). At the Battle of Guathelia, on 28th March 3745 ELC, Admiral Kalabi had the Fearless use its GNG to create an interdiction field, preventing any ships in range from opening wormholes (→TRD). The following day, during the Invasion of Herses, Kalabi brought the First Fleet to bear on the rearguard of the attacking dreadships, sandwiching them between her own fleet and the defence cordon of Ramm Stallahad (→TRD). Kalabi and the First Fleet have standing orders to muster at — and defend — the entire Solar system (→FSS). |
