Pavin Volkas is a lieutenant in the Imperial Combine CAGA, commanding First Platoon of Bullseye Company, 951st Battalion.
The Volkas family is from Guathelia, and Pavin is the paternal uncle of Omin Volkas.
Volkas has been present at virtually every event in which Bullseye has assisted Shard Elm Caden in his investigation into the Rasa and Shaeld Hratha threats.
Caden was quick to assess Volkas' character, deciding on Echo that Volkas was a by-the-book jobsworth who would hold Caden back from his goals. By the time the party reached Aldava Caden had started to ignore Volkas' input (→SFTD).
Volkas was present at the battle on the surface of Woe Tantalum, and was irritated to be issued orders from Rendir Throam after the company's leadership was shot down during a de-orbit manoeuvre. He performed his duties well, however, and was later surprised to receive praise from Elm Caden (→SFTD).
While the ICS Disputer sent resources to the surface of Woe Tantalum to help with the aftermath of the battle there, Volkas had his units corral and detain the Rasas which had become inactive after the climax of the fighting (→LOTD).
During the counter-invasion at Mibes, acting Captain Volkas took control of several ground teams. He was also the commander for the de-orbiting tactics used by some of the landing craft for that invasion. Despite his misgivings he allowed Chun's teams to continue to assist Elm Caden with his own objectives (→LOTD).
By 27th March 3745 ELC Volkas was acting up officially as the company's captain, to temporarily replace the now-deceased Udis Pinsetti. His whole company was then assigned to protect Caden during his role in Operation Keystone, and Volkas confided in Captain Helia Thande that he did not relish the thought of that task (→TRD).
While conducting that operation on the surface of Guathelia, the company came across Omin Volkas and three others, trapped in a cave where they had hidden from Rasas. All of them appeared to be infected with something, and fearing that they had contracted the Rasa virus Caden had them all quarantined. Volkas chose to return to the ICS Disputer with Omin, leaving Tanker Sergeant Zolyn Feior nominally in charge of his operational ground teams (→TRD).
Volkas is currently aboard the research vessel Vavilov, which is where Omin and the others were transferred for medical care and observation (→FSS).
