Miall Crathus was the counterpart of Shard Jidian Tarrow. The pair may have had an illicit relationship.

Some time prior to 23rd March 3745 ELC both Crathus and Tarrow were assigned to ensure the safety of Proconsul Kalistine — the governor of Serrofus Major — in the face of increasing unrest among the native Mastalekt population.
Crathus had a good personal relationship with Tarrow, as well as an exceptional working relationship. The pair were quite like-minded, although Crathus was quite happy to question orders and Tarrow was willing to indulge this behaviour. Crathus had a low opinion of Kalistine and his attitude towards the Mastalekt, and was not afraid to show it.
On 23rd March, during an uprising of the native population, Crathus and Tarrow attempted to evacuate Kalistine from the House of Governance and smuggle him to safety.
They were intercepted by the renegade ex-counterpart Maber Castigon, who had provoked the unrest in order to drive Tarrow out of her secure environment. Crathus saw Tarrow killed right in front of her, and attacked Castigon. She was then shot by him, up through the ribs, and died.
