OverviewHailing from Low Cerin, Junn "Lightfoot" Delanka is a private serving as a rifleman in the CAGA 104th Battalion.
Notable EventsThe 104th was ferried to Guathelia by the ICS Vehement, a Vantage-class carrier. While most of the battalion transferred directly to Camp Camillion, a CAGA training facility, various units from the Second Platoon elected to visit one of the market towns outside the capital. When a sneak attack on Guathelia began, Delanka and his companions were first alerted to the trouble when they witnessed the flaming wreck of the Vehement de-orbiting violently. A bombardment of the capital could be seen and heard from their position shortly after (→SFTD).
Cut off from the Imperial Combine network, and with local communications being jammed, Delanka's squad was still in the town when it was breached by enemy forces. Delanka was separated from his unit while scouting ahead; it was this brief isolation which saved him from sharing their fate. As far as he knows he is the only survivor of his squad (→SFTD). Delanka met Omin Volkas and Halfre Blesson while they were trying to flee the ruined town, and together they rescued a young girl named Caela. They escaped and made for Camp Camillion (→SFTD). After arriving at Camp Camillion, Delanka found the base had been attacked leaving only a single survivor — a corporal named Suster. Everyone else had disappeared from the compound, save for a few killed outright during the initial assault. Delanka then witnessed grounding splinters dropping through the atmosphere and landing nearby. Suster vanished during the night, and Delanka went after him, heading towards the splinters. At the splinters he found a perimeter guard comprising oddly-behaved humans, and was chased by them after speaking briefly with Suster. He then returned to Camp Camillion, and realised he had been followed back (→LOTD). Delanka fled Camillion with Omin, Halfre, and Caela, and was pursued by Rasas. They took refuge in a cave in a large rock formation, and closed the entrance after themselves. They were located days later by CAGA and Tanker soldiers taking part in Operation Keystone, thanks to a locator signal Delanka transmitted from his holo. Elm Caden was present, and quickly recognised from their delirium that the four might be infected with the Rasa virus. He had them quarantined, and they were lifted by shuttle to the ICS Disputer before being transferred to the research vessel Vavilov (→TRD). |
