The poll is now closed! Thanks to everyone who voted and commented, both here and on social media. The purpose of this refresh is to match the text alignment between covers, make the covers less monotone, and help increase the visibility of the text in thumbnail versions of the covers. You can click on the images below to enlarge them. In gallery view, use the left and right cursor keys to flick quickly between covers. NOTE: A third set of images has now been added in response to negative feedback about the proposed text layout. These latest images are in the middle column, and labelled as the "compromise" covers.

Just echoing the other comments made. It's more the text that's a turn off more than anything else.

I didn't see the poll the first time! But I also agree, the new colors look great but the text not that much... I wouldn't go as far as saying that it makes it look like a comedy, but still I think the original format of the title is already part of the Armada Wars "personality".

I too prefer the original text/font; I find it strong and attractive. The proposed text is too comic-like for me, and may have put me off buying it if it was as such. I don't like vibrancy on covers so much; I find covers that are too flashy off-putting, and make me question the quality of writing. The artwork and grey hue of the original did plenty to attract me, and of course the font of the cover. This is a book I judged by it's online cover. Downloaded a digital sample, then ordered the book. I need to read the second installment still!.

The feedback on the proposed font has been pretty unanimous. The new covers are a compromise: I quite liked the subdued colours of the originals however they were just smears in thumbnail form and since changing them sales have increased by a third, so the publishing industry "rules" for covers appear to be well judged.
