The following books are now updated, and you can download the updates for your Kindle immediately:
You can check which version of each book you have by looking for the revision number on the copyright page. If there is no revision number, your edition pre-dates the adoption of that system. If you don't have automatic updates turned on, you can push the updated files to your Kindle device/s or app/s using the "Manage My Content and Devices" page in the Kindle area of Amazon's web site. That page is also available in the "Digital content and devices" list, found on the "My Account" page. Please leave a comment if you have any problems obtaining updates — KDP had some communication issues this week, and I'm eager to ensure everything has gone smoothly. What's New?The Fourth Edition of Steal from the Devil adds some new material, and changes the order of scenes up to the climax in order to make the flow of text far better. The climax is more robust, and key characters have enhanced scenes or background added throughout the book. Grammar and punctuation have received a very comprehensive scrubbing. In all other books, including SFTD, other tweaks have been made. MAGA is now CAGA, fonts have been replaced since their accidental removal, the NCX files which build the "Go To..." menu have been repaired in the omnibus editions, typography has been brought in line with the printed editions, and so on. Did You Know...?Armadaverse Kindle books have always included "publisher fonts", so that you can read the book exactly as it was intended to be presented. These cause the eBooks to mimic the printed editions, both in style and typography. You can turn them on in the display options for your Kindle device or app.
A previous update accidentally omitted the font data, but it has been replaced across the updates above. Another advantage of including fonts is that it allows stylistic differentiation in the text, such as for the incident in which Bruiser discovers anti-human graffiti in his home town:

As I mentioned previously, refreshed versions of the current novels (volumes 1–4 at time of writing) will be released soon. The plan is to release them all together for both the Kindle and paperback editions, including the omnibus and boxed set versions.
Books 2–4 will only be getting minor tweaks and corrections — nothing major needs changing. The files for the paperbacks, Kindle individual titles, and Kindle boxed set versions will be getting a hard reset to the "master version" of their respective texts (I've noticed slight discrepancies between the editions, thanks to a sloppy workflow.) The rear covers of the paperbacks will also be tweaked to make them look a bit more professional. However Steal from the Devil has had a massive overhaul. I consider this the fourth edition, and some of you won't like this but there's... like... more material. I know, I know, I thought I was making tweaks and I guess I just got carried away. What I can say is that the longest new passages have all been character-based additions with the exception of the climax which gets some more action. I will make sure Amazon KDP pushes the refreshed SFTD as a free update to Kindle customers. For paperback customers, you'll have three options:
So what has changed in Steal from the Devil? Here are some examples:
![]() You don't have long to wait now before the next volume arrives from the Armadaverse: I Dream of Damastion is now available as a Kindle pre-order! It's been a dry couple of years for Armada Wars fans, and this expansion episode should hopefully slake your thirst prior to the release of the final full novel in the current series. Set during the events of The Ravening Deep, IDOD takes a sideways step from Caden and the others, and follows a different set of characters as they discover and resist Voice on a smaller and more claustrophobic scale.
Don't forget, if you subscribe to kindleunlimited then you can read any of the Armadaverse books as much as you like, without paying a thing. Were you planning on subscribing? Why wait! → UK / USA. And of course for those who prefer paper to eBooks, all the Armadaverse novels are available as paperbacks: USA / World • United Kingdom. Keep an eye out during lockdown for further offers! In addition to the previously mentioned price drops for Kindle and the standard paperbacks, there's a new offer running throughout September. While stocks last, signed paperbacks bought from this site will be discounted by a whopping 33%!
The coupon code for that offer is 09KABOOM18. You can shop for signed copies here. The discount does not apply to the new Omnibus paperback, nor to the Whom Gods Shall Fear pre-order. It's available on the four individual paperbacks that are currently available. In related news, it is now time to retire the mutating coupon code. This was the code found on the back of the business cards distributed through Armada Wars convention appearances. It might be wrapped in absolute secrecy, but one thing is clear: the finale of the current series of Armada Wars novels is a book fans cannot wait to get hold of.
To encourage readers to get up-to-date with the series before the fifth novel lands at Amazon, and to encourage fans to "bring a friend", prices have now been dropped across the entire series. For Kindle, prices have gone back to the original model of having the first book at $0.99, and subsequent volumes at $2.99 (that's 99p and £1.99 for people in the UK). The price of the first Kindle omnibus has been adjusted accordingly. Paperback prices have been moved down until the royalty is barely worth even having. Seriously, it's a laughable amount. Again, the price of the paperback version of the first omnibus has also been adjusted. But wait, that's not all! If you have bought an eligible copy of any Armada Wars paperback through Amazon, in a region which supports MatchBook, then you can now claim your Kindle copy for free. YOU HEARD ME! These changes are populating across the regional Amazon web sites now, and should be reflected in all regions by 30th August. If you want to give something back to the Armadaverse, please leave a review on Amazon and/or Goodreads. It really makes a massive difference. The project to add X-Ray content to all Kindle editions has now finished with the successful completion of the material for the Armada Wars Books 1–3 Omnibus.
This was a hugely tedious undertaking as it involved copying entries across from the three individual novels contained within the omnibus, while being careful to avoid the inclusion of spoilers. There are 110 character entries, and 260 terms. Phew! As a result of this phase of the project, some new terms have been added into the X-Ray content for the three separate novels, and some definitions have been tidied up. As before, to refresh your Kindle edition with the new X-Ray content you need to delete the file from your device and download it again (which costs nothing). The new content will come with it. If you buy the book new as of the time this post appears then you need do nothing else: you already have the X-Ray content. Over the past couple of weeks, the paperback editions have been quietly migrated from Createspace to Kindle Direct Publishing. This means faster and simpler delivery (now fulfilled by normal Amazon means), and full Prime availability. The opportunity was also taken to make some tiny tweaks to the content and covers.
Additionally, the paperback edition of the Armada Wars Books 1–3 Omnibus is now live on Amazon! This 3 lb monster of a book contains Steal from the Devil, List of the Dead, and The Ravening Deep, and comes with a cost saving of about 20% over the individual copies. The second omnibus will be printed to the same dimensions, for those of you who like your books to line up properly. You asked, so here it comes! The paperback edition of the Books 1–3 Omnibus will be arriving on or before 1st March 2018, and it's a whopper!
The book is a large format 7x10" paperback, reducing the combined 1180 page count of the first three novels by almost half and coming in at 646 pages. Like the Kindle version the omnibus paperback will come with a cost saving. The pricing is currently expected to be $30.99 in the USA, £22.99 in the UK, and €25.99 in Europe. This price point makes the print omnibus about 20% cheaper than buying individual paperback novels. If you've already started collecting the novels in 5x8" paperback format, don't worry: they will of course continue. The second Omnibus, incorporating From Shattered Stars and Whom Gods Shall Fear, will also be released in 7x10" format. So whichever way you collect, your bookshelf will line up nicely! The Great War of the Shaeld is due to end this summer with the release of Whom Gods Shall Fear, and to celebrate the coming of the apocalypse it's time for another discount spectacular! The last time there was a catch-up discount it was just for a long weekend. It was so popular that this time it will be a weeklong spectacular! That's right: for an entire week, the Kindle books will be deeply discounted. You know those friends you've recommended the series to? The ones who did nothing about it, despite your enthusiasm? Smack them around a bit with a share of this page 👊🏼 The discounts begin on 1st February 2018 and will last for a week.
That's right. Act quickly and you could get everything so far for £4.96. That's more or less half price at the current Kindle prices. And the kicker? Once you have the Kindle editions in your Amazon account, you will get serious discounts automatically on audiobook versions! Please note that in the case of From Shattered Stars, the discounted price of $1.99 USD will change to $2.99 USD on Amazon.com, from 4th Feb to the end of the promotional period. The early birds will get the best discount!
