With the release of A Storm to the Savage, quite a few background changes have also come to pass...
If you are not subscribed to the newsletter you may have missed the latest in terms of social media. There is a likelihood that the Armadaverse will be quitting Facebook. The hitherto under-used Armada Wars Twitter account will now publish all announcements. This web site remains the best source for all Armadaverse news and information. There is also now a linktr.ee account which will be kept up to date with the sites/pages which are active and or useful.

Over the past couple of weeks, the paperback editions have been quietly migrated from Createspace to Kindle Direct Publishing. This means faster and simpler delivery (now fulfilled by normal Amazon means), and full Prime availability. The opportunity was also taken to make some tiny tweaks to the content and covers.
Additionally, the paperback edition of the Armada Wars Books 1–3 Omnibus is now live on Amazon! This 3 lb monster of a book contains Steal from the Devil, List of the Dead, and The Ravening Deep, and comes with a cost saving of about 20% over the individual copies. The second omnibus will be printed to the same dimensions, for those of you who like your books to line up properly. Because the product details text on the Amazon pages need updating to take the new release date into account for From Shattered Stars, minor corrections are being uploaded to the existing Kindle eBooks at the same time. The paperback editions will be updated with the new interior content, none of which is incredibly compelling.

From Shattered Stars (Rev. 1.08)
The Kindle update policy has changed, and existing customers will not receive updates for such trivial changes. The new Kindle versions will be available to new customers tomorrow, with the paperbacks expected to be updated by the day after. Additionally, it has been discovered that links to Createspace stores now simply redirect to Amazon. Createspace links have therefore been removed from this site. If you don't use Amazon, you can buy signed paperbacks on the official store. If you're not a member already, Amazon UK is offering three months of Kindle Unlimited for free as part of Black Friday. This is three times as long as their normal 30-day trial, and gives you access to over a million books.
So if you've still to catch up with one, two, three, or even all of the Armada Wars books, now would be a good time to act! You must apply before the end of 1st December, and please take note of the small print (it's one of those deals where you'll be charged after the three months if you don't cancel). ![]() The signed paperback version of From Shattered Stars is now available here, and only here! If you've picked up our business card at a convention then you already have a mutating coupon code for this site. The code currently gives you £4 off FSS on the official store. Amazon OneLink is now being rolled out across the site. This system means that you only have to click one button to go and find a particular Armada Wars book on your local Amazon store — Amazon works out for itself what geographical region you are in, and routes you accordingly.
The system is being implemented for Kindle edition links, paperback links, and some audiobook links. At the moment it's up and running for readers in the USA, the UK, and Canada. People from other regions can click the same link to use the Amazon.com site, or choose from the regional links which are still listed. One known issue is that OneLink doesn't always register your region on the first click, and sends you to Amazon.com regardless of where you are. Subsequent clicks seem to be handled correctly. Presumably this is a bug that Amazon is working on already. Now that the audiobook edition of Steal from the Devil has launched across all applicable retailers, there are some more details available on price and functionality!
The audiobook can be acquired through these routes:
Retailers set their own prices for the audiobooks, which they base on listening length and market factors. The audiobook has been produced in line with the requirements for Whispersync for Voice and Immersion Reading, two features of the Kindle/Audible platforms. The former allows you to stop reading and start listening where you left off, or vice versa. The latter allows you to listen while the relevant text is actively highlighted, which is handy for language learners and non-native speakers. Learn more about Whispersync and Immersion Reading. ![]() It's here! The audiobook of Steal from the Devil is now available. Narrated by James Highfield, and weighing in at almost 9 hours, this is an all new way to experience the opening of the Armada Wars story. The audiobook is available from Amazon/Audible, and from the iTunes/iBooks stores. See the book page for global links, or search on your local Amazon store or Apple device. ![]() From Shattered Stars is now fully available in both Kindle eBook and paperback formats! As well as buying outright or borrowing for Kindle, you can now purchase the paperback edition to line up with your other lovely paper copies. This paperback is in the same format as the other current books, with one small new feature: some elements of the front cover wrap around onto the spine. See the FSS page for links to your preferred Amazon site. ![]() It has begun! The Kindle edition of From Shattered Stars is arriving now, for those lucky readers who live in Australia or use the Australian Kindle store. As midnight hits in the time zone for each regional Kindle storefront, the book will become available for download there. If you pre-ordered, and your device is connected, it will appear by fricking magic. Three handy things to know:
The paperback edition is expected to land on the store and on Amazon before the end of June. |
