If you're enjoying Armada Wars, you may also like The Calypsis Project by Canadian author Brittany M. Willows.
The Calypsis Project is the first volume in a duology (with the second part, TCP: Rebirth, due soon), and will also get an additional prequel volume, TCP: Pulse.
The brand new and very shiny latest editions of the paperbacks have now arrived right here in our very own store, and are available as signed editions! Check it ouuuuuut.
This is particularly good news for UK readers who do not have Amazon Prime, and anyone who doesn't use Amazon at all.
Some more improvements to the site this week:
This week the prices of the current signature editions have been massacred in our store, in a fashion which would make Tanker regiment proud.
All the signature editions are currently £10 a copy, regardless of whether they are classified as "rare" or "unique".
The shiny new versions of the paperbacks are now available across Amazon. There was some kind of issue populating Steal from the Devil on the UK site, but this is now fully resolved.
Amazon is selling off remaining stock of the previous versions in some instances. You can be sure you are getting the latest version by checking the relevant book page in this site's novel section: you can follow the links to see each book on Amazon (all the links here point to the latest versions), and ensure the ISBN numbers and cover styles match what is shown on this site. The most notable differences on the new paperback covers are (a) the author line is no longer in italics and (b) the "Armada Wars" line appears above the book's title, like it does on the Kindle versions.
Kindle updates were released today for all the current Armada Wars novels: Steal from the Devil, List of the Dead, and The Ravening Deep. The changes include updated front and back matter, tidying, improved spacing around some elements, drop-caps at the start of chapters, and a few spelling and punctuation tweaks. If you haven't already upgraded, Steal from the Devil will also be updated to the recently released third edition, which includes some new material.
If you have automatic updates turned on you will probably find the updates have been delivered already. if not, just go to your Amazon account and navigate to "Kindle > Manage your Content and Devices" to send the updates.
The web site has been lavished with attention this week. In the past day, the following changes have gone live:
See the post from the other day to read about the other changes made this week.
Some changes and improvements have been made to the site in the past day. As well as various layout and formatting tweaks, the following changes were made:
It's been a week of news in the Armadaverse. If you're feeling shell-shocked, imagine how I feel.
Along with everything else added to the site this week, I sneaked on the details pages and synopses for the two novellas which will expand the fourth full novel, From Shattered Stars.
Whereas the novellas expanding The Ravening Deep are intended to explore two of the core mysteries of the novels, in quite personal ways, these two novellas will be more action-oriented. They will take a closer look at two of the groups operating within the Imperial Combine: intelligence field agents, and Tankers.
You will probably pick out hints from their synopses about what is coming in the last two novels.
Just in time for holiday season, the first omnibus edition of the Armada Wars novels is now available to preorder for Kindle. The release date of July 1st is very likely to be brought forward into June (edit: release date was moved to 1st June 2016, and the omnibus is now available).
This omnibus contains volumes 1-3:
They are all the latest texts (which this week have also graced the individual Kindle editions, and the new paperbacks), and the SFTD version is the third edition.
It might seem weird having an omnibus of the first three books of a five book story, but it's simpler to have this now and later release a second omnibus of the last two books (and probably the novellas too). Kindle pricing and royalty structures sort of dictate it.
The book is almost 300,000 words long, so it's a whopper. The price of $9.99 USD (£6.99) represents a saving of about 15-18%, depending on what Kindle region you use.
In all likelihood this is of more use to your friends than it is to you, so do please share!
If however you have only bought the first book, it may still save you money if you buy this edition instead of getting the sequels separately... even if you dropped lucky with a freebie day or a countdown deal.
