It has begun! The Kindle edition of From Shattered Stars is arriving now, for those lucky readers who live in Australia or use the Australian Kindle store. As midnight hits in the time zone for each regional Kindle storefront, the book will become available for download there. If you pre-ordered, and your device is connected, it will appear by fricking magic.
Three handy things to know:
The paperback edition is expected to land on the store and on Amazon before the end of June.
The cost of the Kindle eBooks is likely to rise this summer, but in the meantime the prices of all Armada Wars novels have dropped today, which includes the pre-order of From Shattered Stars.
The USA now gets novels for $3.99 (still $2.99 for Steal from the Devil), and books that were $5.99 in Canada and Australia are now $4.99 in the respective currencies. Readers in Mexico, Brazil, India, and Japan also benefit from reduced prices across the board.
Because of the lower prices, all volumes which were $1.99 USD via Kindle MatchBook are now just $0.99.
In other news, the obsolescent .mobi file format has been dropped, and replaced with the more versatile .ePub format.
At last! From Shattered Stars has arrived for pre-order, finally. It's been a long slog, but the work is now progressing at such a rate that it has been listed on Amazon with confidence.
What horrible treats are in store for you all.
As usual, pre-order links for the Kindle store can be found on the book's information page. Paperbacks will be in stock close to the release of the Kindle edition.
Just in time for holiday season, the first omnibus edition of the Armada Wars novels is now available to preorder for Kindle. The release date of July 1st is very likely to be brought forward into June (edit: release date was moved to 1st June 2016, and the omnibus is now available).
This omnibus contains volumes 1-3:
They are all the latest texts (which this week have also graced the individual Kindle editions, and the new paperbacks), and the SFTD version is the third edition.
It might seem weird having an omnibus of the first three books of a five book story, but it's simpler to have this now and later release a second omnibus of the last two books (and probably the novellas too). Kindle pricing and royalty structures sort of dictate it.
The book is almost 300,000 words long, so it's a whopper. The price of $9.99 USD (£6.99) represents a saving of about 15-18%, depending on what Kindle region you use.
In all likelihood this is of more use to your friends than it is to you, so do please share!
If however you have only bought the first book, it may still save you money if you buy this edition instead of getting the sequels separately... even if you dropped lucky with a freebie day or a countdown deal.
This is something of a first for the current series of books: a sneak preview of the next episode!
This excerpt from The Ravening Deep is one of the first scenes in the book in which we really get inside Euryce Eilentes' point of view, and it broaches the subject of Throam's abandonment during the Battle of Meccrace Prime in List of the Dead.
It also brings into focus some elements of the story which by this point in the text have only been referenced casually: the footage of dreadships broadcast by the crew of the Leo Fortune, and the devastating phenomenon now referred to as The Falling.
And of course... what Armada Wars novel would be complete without the obligatory gym scene?

The third novel in the Armada Wars series — The Ravening Deep — is now available to pre-order in all Amazon Kindle regions.
As previously announced on this blog, the pre-order price for The Ravening Deep will be £1.99 in the UK, $2.99 in the USA, and the equivalent prices in other regions.
One month after the date of release, the normal sale price will take effect. This will be £2.99 in the UK, $4.99 in the USA, and the equivalent prices in other regions.
The print length of The Ravening Deep is expected to be ~520 pages. Unfortunately the paperback cannot be pre-ordered, but it is expected to be released on or shortly after the eBook release date.
When List of the Dead was placed on pre-order it was originally priced at £3.99, but not long after it was actually released the price dropped to £2.99 (and the equivalent prices in other regions). This was in line with the long term plan of having the initial volume in each story priced low, and a uniform price for all subsequent volumes.
With hindsight, that was not really very fair to the die-hard fans who pre-ordered LOTD.
So for The Ravening Deep the exact opposite is going to happen, which will compensate those die-hard fans.
TRD will be on pre-order for just £1.99, and available at that price for a month after release. Then the price will rise to £2.99 to match that of LOTD.
