Commander Faia Ouellet was the first officer aboard the ICS Ardent, a prototype star cruiser of the Imperial Navy, under Captain Mansour al-Rashid.

Commander Ouellet assisted Captain al-Rashid with the briefing for all guest scientists aboard the Ardent, at the commencement of their mission to try and solve the navy's wormhole problem.
During the unusual events of the mission she was one of the last bridge officers to remain unaffected, and discussed her concerns with chief engineer Zana Turei and mission specialist Rex Bel-Kenita. The three tried to formulate a plan to maintain control of the ship in the face of an apparent enemy incursion.
Contact was lost with Ouellet at a critical point in the plan, and it was later discovered that she had become part of an instance of Voice. Her ultimate fate is not recorded.
